Activity 30 - We Are Mini Dreamers

This week's activity is a very special and exciting project to encourage you to dream and look ahead, to use creativity to focus on the positives of emerging from our collective restrictions. Inspired by Arc's borough-wide 2018 project 'We Are Dreamers', we're asking you to think about what you dream of, aspire to, long for and create a miniature dreambox piece with the opportunity for it to be exhibited in Stockport in collaboration with The Doll's House Art Gallery.'We Are Mini Dreamers' invites you to express yourself by creating your own mini "dream world" inside a box sized 5 x 3.7cm for this fun and forward-looking activity and mini exhibition. Let us guide you through creating a dreambox space of your own design.
What do you dream of? What do you love? What are you passionate about? What have you been longing for? What are you excited to experience? What is your passion or new found hobby that you can't wait to explore further out in the world? Your box could represent your future plans, hopes or dreams and be personal or concerned with wider issues. It could be a literal or more abstract representation. It's your dreamworld, you make the rules!
Are you an artist? We would love you to respond to this call out and we will do all we can to share your work and you'll be part of the exhibition. People who don't consider themselves artists are most welcome too!
Thanks to a fantastic response we received over 40 pieces through the open call! You can visit the mini exhibition from June 19th in a window opposite Pound Bakery in Merseyway Shopping Centre in central Stockport any day and time that the centre is open. Want to be part of the next exhibiton of mini boxes at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery opening September 25th? There's still time to submit a piece - deliver or post to Arc by August 31st!
